Chiefs Honored at the White House

Last Friday, the Chiefs visited the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl 58 victory.

President Biden welcomed the Chiefs back for the second year in a row and congratulated them on being the first team in 20 years to repeat as champions.

"Back to back,” Biden said, “I like that."

Biden later joked about Travis Kelce’s failed attempt to get on the microphone last year at the ceremony before inviting Kelce to the mic.

Kelce said, “My fellow Americans, it's nice to see you all again,” then joked that he had to return to his spot before getting tased.

At the end of the ceremony, Coach Reid and CEO Clark Hunt presented President Biden with a Chiefs helmet that Biden put on.

In a brief interview after the ceremony, Patrick Mahomes said:

"I think it was cool that you kind of knew what to expect. I'm showing other guys pictures on the wall. I'm showing paintings, I'm showing some old furniture, everything.

It really is cool, and I feel I was trying to be a tour guide at some point, and so it is cool for that. And then to be on the stage and get to just look out and you see the Washington Monument and all these different things, it's a cool moment. I'll appreciate it.”
