Chiefs Bring Back Hunt
After a workout and visit with the team, the Chiefs signed RB Kareem Hunt to their practice squad yesterday.
The expectation is that Hunt will be elevated from the practice squad to the active roster in the coming weeks once he’s back in shape.
Hunt was the Chiefs’ 3rd-round pick in the 2017 draft and played two seasons with the team before being released for off-the-field incidents that he was not honest with the organization about.
Hunt spent the last five seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Last season, Hunt ran for 411 yards on 135 carries and had 15 catches for 84 yards.
Hunt shared a post on Instagram yesterday with highlights from his first stint in KC, captioned, “Run it back, turbo…. 🍿🦍 #29.”

Yesterday we asked the readers…
How concerned are you about the offense without Isiah Pacheco?
🟨🟨🟨🟨🟨⬜️ Very concerned (78)

Somewhat concerned: “There is no doubt that losing Pacheco is a blow to an offense that looked to run more in 2024, but Andy Reid's offense has always been pass focused and will rely more heavily on Patrick and our main receivers like Kelce and Rice to fill the gap. That being said, I think we are all excited to see what Carson Steele can bring to the table if he becomes the main weapon of our running game. What he lacks in experience is balanced out by his aggressive and hard hitting running style.”
Somewhat concerned: “Just the loss of Pacheco's energy and ‘football is life’ attitude is bound to put strain on the team. Prayers for a speedy recovery!”
Luke’s Take:
I would fall into the somewhat concerned crowd with a slight lean towards very concerned.
Pacheco had 17 touches in Week 1 and 24 touches in Week 2.
He’s a vital piece of the offense, not to mention the energy and “juice” he plays with.
This next game will give us a better read on how concerned we should be about the offense without Pacheco.
Honestly though, as long as Mahomes is healthy, I won’t freak out about anybody else going down.
ICYMI (in case you missed it)
RB Isiah Pacheco will undergo surgery to repair his fractured fibula and will miss six weeks or more
