The Latest

Rashee Rice is under investigation for allegedly hitting a photographer at a Dallas nightclub early Monday morning.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the altercation. He had swelling on the side of his face.

Police are interviewing witnesses about the event.

Rice is a suspect but no charges have been filed.

This comes on the heels of Rice’s involvement in a dangerous car crash in Dallas at the beginning of April.

The Chiefs are set to host WR Zay Jones on a visit today.

Jones was recently released by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jones has been in the NFL for 7 years, playing for the Bills, Raiders, and Jaguars.

He had the best year of his career in 2022 with the Jaguars when he accumulated 823 yards and five touchdowns.

In 2023, Jones only played in 9 games for the Jaguars and had 321 yards and two touchdowns.

The Chiefs may be looking to add veteran depth to the wide receiver room because of the unknown availability of Rashee Rice for the 2024 season.

Andy Reid spoke to the media on Monday at the end of rookie minicamp:

• On Xavier Worthy: “I thought he did a nice job picking stuff up… We asked him to do a whole lot of stuff there… Sharp kid.”

• On Kingsley Suamataia: “… I was proud of him [for] how he worked, he did a nice job of learning…”

• On the young offensive linemen: “… I liked what I saw… It’s got to be one of the better young offensive line groups we’ve had in here, collectively…

• On Louis Rees-Zammit: “… He’ll learn the pad level the first time he gets hit… I like the fact that he’s got shorter steps initially, that’s a good thing as a running back… He seems to have a nice feel.”

• On TE Jared Wiley: “I like what I saw. Big kid that can change direction… I thought he caught the ball well for the most part and retained information…”

• On the new kickoff rule: “Toub has jumped right into it… It’s obviously going to take some time to learn… It’s different. I’m not afraid of changes, never really have been… It looks like it’s going to be exciting. I’m fired up to see how it goes, as long as it goes in our direction.”
