In the Spotlight

When you’re the back-to-back Super Bowl champions and you have arguably the most popular athlete in the world on your team, the NFL wants you in the spotlight.

The Chiefs play five primetime games this season (Thursday, Sunday, or Monday night), and they have another three standalone games (Black Friday, Saturday before Christmas, and Christmas Day).

The Chiefs will play football on every day of the week except Tuesday during the 2024 season.

When you’re the best team in the league, your schedule is far from consistent and routine.

Early Tests

The Chiefs take on the Ravens in an AFC Championship game rematch to open the season, then host a Bengals team that will presumably have a healthy Joe Burrow at the helm.

Playing two of the tougher opponents on their schedule in weeks 1 and 2 will tell us a lot about the 2024 Chiefs.

But, as we saw last season, Andy Reid and his staff know how to get this team peaking in the playoffs, so Chiefs fans shouldn’t put too much stock into the results of these first two games.

On the Naughty List

The Chiefs will play three games in just 11 calendar days from December 15th through December 25th (weeks 15-17).

This 11-day stretch will likely feel like a lump of coal in their stockings for coaches and players.

The only bright spot about this is that the Chiefs will have 10 or 11 days between their Christmas Day game and their week 18 matchup against the Broncos.

Can We Just Go Back to Cable?

The Chiefs’ Black Friday game against the Raiders will air on Prime Video, and the Christmas Day game against the Steelers will air on Netflix.

During the 2024 season, the NFL will air games on CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN, NFL Network, Prime Video, Peacock, and Netflix.

The Chiefs will play on six different networks in 2024.
